Notes & Combos
My 4th DlvMAX in my Duel Links Career. Now with Suships, a deck I've grown to absolutely love playing for all of the wonky interactions I've learned with it. Can't wait until the last few cards from the archetype come into the game.
I had a very unfortunate first climb. I had six different rank up game attempts, lost all of them, even got demoted, and then made my way back. I dropped the game after Tachyon Tier 0, so I absolutely was not ready with the new meta. I tried pulling for BoE or more IDP but didn't have the gems on my side.
I felt fine with most matchups. I felt very confident with Prepaplant especially since of my irl buddies pilots it and playing against it before a few times prepared me against it (shoutouts to Amber!). I think this deck has very awesome going second capabilities, and it helps a lot of people on my climb were playing slower decks like Shaddoll and Ghostrick, which if they don't get much time to setup, this deck easily can end games before they become obnoxious.
Lyrilusc is what I dreaded to fight the most because my tech options and extra deck don't have a lot to fight against it. Lightning and having the extra Rank 4 ship came up much more often than other cards in my pile. If you can, I'd recommend using Castel over a 2nd Ikura-Dreadnaught.
My 5 matches to DlvMAX were Sky Striker, Predaplant, Lyrilusc, Ghosttrick, and Eternal Bond(?) which I'm surprised people still play.
Last but not least, here's some tips:
- If you can, do Shari Red first to summon Uni from deck and make the Lv5. You'll be able to setup the quick effect negate immediately before your opponent can chain extra cards like Effect Veiler, etc.
- Remember that Shari Red also only summons out the ship XYZs.
- If you can sequence this on good hands, search the deck with a special summoned Ikura and then do the Uni Lv modifier > search so you have a higher chance of drawing a tech card at the final steps of your turn.
- If someone tries to activate an effect negate on your suships after their XYZ summon effect, they'll still be able to attack twice/directly, since the effect is applied/continuous(?) and not activated.
Like with my Constellar and Odd-Eyes lists, if you have any questions feel free to ask.
Replays
I'll probably grab replays later and post them in the comments
