Notes & Combos
Yet another successful Red-Eyes KOG, feels good after completing a previous Spicy Winstreak in this run. Definitely agree that this is a nice meta for once, except for Battle Chronicle BE lol. Here's some write-up for deck matches and thoughts on this deck:
- Why 28 cards? This is just me liking my jank, you can totally cut out some backrow, but remember that RE can quickly thin out your deck.
- No Gearfried and Slash? Again, another preference out of my bitterness losing matches when I had Gearfried in hand or drew it. There're tons of non-targetting destruction around so this deck's ace is Flare Metal, and I tell you, several of my wins is just Flare Metal burning them slowly and giving them a hard time outing this guy.
- Hold out, never surrender is my serious motto this run, it only takes one wrong move for them, like not reading Piercing the Darkness, holding out your last Chain, or even them timing out lol. As a rogue deck, no surrenders!
- V.S. Battle Chronicle BE Unfortunately this deck's skill is so jacked up, they got easy comebacks and free Cosmics, your best bet is to hold on to your D.D. Crow so you can mess up their Ultimate Fusions. Piercing the Darkness also outs Ultimate Dragon or Knight, and Flare Metal can survive destruction from their fusion spell. Steal their Twin with Chain and Crackdown.
- V.S. REZD Zombies D.D. Crow immediately after Draw Phase, don't let Balerdroch hit the field! Steal before they can even do Synchros. If Archfiend attacks, Mazera can stop battle destruction, but it won't summon itself.
- V.S. Shiranui D.D. Crow the real MVP if you notice, as well as Flare Metal being immune to every destruction effect they have. Banish Spectralsword is the obvious choice, but hold if you think it's not needed yet. Steal Squiresaga before she activates. PtD can take care of Sunsaga. The biggest annoyance of all is Samsara, if they set 1 face-up only and pass, best believe you steal that thing ASAP on their EP and score for a win with Archfiend next turn.
- V.S. Mayakashi Hmm never faced them that much prior to L4-KOG. Let's keep this simple, D.D. Crow banish Dakki and don't let them climb.
- V.S. Tech Genus The most interesting match-up. It's nearly impossible to win against this deck, I missed the opportunity to do this but there could be a way: 2x Flare Metal on turn 1. (8 moves = 4000 damage unless they deal with it).
