Notes & Combos

This month's climb in speed was the most fun I've had in a long time! If you've seen my other decklists you know I just can't let go of these reptiles. And I promise as crazy as this looks, this works and caught a lot of players off guard. Let me break it down.

Why Chimera and Ogdos? They don't have synergy.

Yes and no. Chimera works with the other 3 types, but there are actually monsters from from both sides that unexpectedly work well together.

What are those cards?

First, the lv10 illusion. Initially that was supposed to be the key core card that connects the two decks together since it can ss any monster (including the reptiles). But what blew me away was there was an even better card that could make use of both sides.

Aleirrt (dark ogdo) was the mvp of this whole deck! Even though the opponent can grab back any monster (including dd crow), it's 2nd effect can loop back one of the chimera fusion monsters into the gy over and over again. Even crow has trouble dealing with this since our grave has other uses.

The skill and combos.

Skill was mainly meant to combat Masquerade's cost. Unfortunately it wasn't much help there but still useful for surviving some otks. And I sure didn't mind using a weaker skill either. As for the combos, aside from the standard ones from each side, I just want to bring up one that may look like a brick. Nunu plus Berfomet is actually a 2 card combo if you don't have anything else helpful in your hand. Pitch Nunu and mill a reptile, ss Nunu and tribute summon Berfomet. There was a replay where that line singlehandedly won me a game vs Chimera but unfortunately I forgot to save it.

Matchups

Aside from coin toss, most matchups will be great, especially the ones vs Ra. The biggest disadvantage is unfortunately the despia matchup. This is due to Masquerade's cost. Shaddoll is also terrible to face since I'm not playing farfa or Kaijus. I hope it gets nerfed soon. For the extra deck, the Link 5 barely came up and Sanaphond was the 2nd least used.

TL;DR The deck was so much fun and will hopefully do better if Masquerade cost is reduced to 300 and maybe Shaddoll (at least winda) gets nerfed. Enjoy the replays.
