Notes & Combos
Really enjoyed the back and forth duels with Blue Eyes during this KOG run.. :)
Sarcasm aside, I really liked incorporating Pookuery and Memorygant into my longer-lasting battles, especially against the likes of Phantom Knights and Shadow Dolls.
Extending with Pookuery was useful to get Hexstia for spell/trap negates, and climbing up into Primebanshee and Memorygant is always nice to get more resources each time they go to the GY, but usually only happens when I took control of the game already.
For the traps, I was experimenting with some variations throughout my climb, but 3x compulse and 2x bottomless trap hole work well for me especially as dark fluid became more popular now these days.
Earlier in the season I tried both transmigration prophecy at 2x and debunked at 2x for the prevalent shiranui, zombies, PK, etc. GY decks on ladder, but now at the end of the season I was mostly facing BEs and Cyberse decks.
Now after seeing other decklists here, I think I should've tried the deflector trap as well.. would've worked wonders against those two aforementioned skills (battle chronicle & dark fluid) :)
Replays
Fierce KoG Rank-Up Battle against Blue-Eyes player
Blue-Eyes Negating floodgates with Hexstia
Blue-Eyes Quickest win possible against BEs
Phantom Knights (Epic battle, ended up outresourcing PK)
Phantom Knights (Memorygant FTW!)
Phantom Knights (Lost that one, but was a good lesson that Kunquery cannot activate its effect if added to hand via Spoofing after an attack was declared already)
Dark Fluids (caught me off guard as Dark Fluid was just added that day, didn't know it would negate hand effects)
Dark Fluid (Learned how to tame that beast by preventing them from summoning its fusion and its effect negate during battle phase, also never letting them summon Dark Fluid itself)
Constellar (Double pop chain with Silquitous + compulse FTW)
Shadolls (Time-out win, nevertheless a good replay)
Shiranui (pretty tough match-up, he ended up outresourcing me with more traps + Sunsaga )
Yubel (My fav replay against Yubel, both on Legend 5)
Yubel (he probably didn't expect that ;)
Yubel (One of the more difficult Yubel match-ups, but I managed to take control again)
Dark Magician Battle Chronicle (Silquitous nuking his board by removing Eternal Soul)
Fabled (I was amazed at how many more cards he could draw into in a single turn, couldn't compete with this sheer abundance of resources)
Evil Eye (Very interesting archetype, he ran out of options in the end)
Luna Lights (Pentest Bug in the end really killed it for me)
