Congrats! i'm running a DM deck too with Bane of Darkness, but i am perma-stuck at Legend 1. Btw i don't have all the core cards 3x (like i have 1 Eclipse only) and i miss Big Eye and Blader in the extra deck too. I feel this lack is affecting my game too much.\nAlso, if i go first i can pull out Dark Paladin/Cavalry, but almost any deck i'm facing has got a drastic response to these two specific monsters T_T\nI was considering to switch to Battle Chronicle, because if i cannot set an effective control board, maybe i can at least try to Otk with Double Caster.\nDo you have any suggestion for me?

I can make several suggestions:

I'd highly recommend getting x3 of the core cards (3 Circle, 3 Summoner's Art, 3 DM, 3 Apprentice Illusion Magician) so that you can experiment with numbers that works for you
Book of Eclipse isn't necessary for Bane of Darkness, but it does make it stronger. If you have any cards like Dark Hole, Book of Moon .etc, you can try running those instead
The Buster Blader fusion is only there as a counter for Dragon decks. You can play without it, but Dragon deck match ups will be tougher. Also, you can go without Big Eye, but I do recommend getting it
If you're missing too many cards, switching to Battle Chronicle would be a good idea. That way, you can slowly collect the other cards and have something else in the mean time

Hey, i've red your guide, it is very well done. I saw a card that i didn't know, Black Magic Illusion. I find it wonderfull, perfectly balanced for defence and offence, like Book of Eclipse. I think i'll try to put my hands on it. I've also casually found a cheaper replacement, Dark Magic Illusion, it does the same thing but negates only 1 effect (but yeah, it's way more affordable to get).\nI've also seen your today's video on Youtube. I'd like to have a little chit chat with you :)

Are you talking about Black Illusion? It's a good card for protecting your monsters and making them immune to card effects and battle for the turn, but it's unsearchable, which is why it doesn't get a lot of use. Don't know what you mean by Dark Magic Illusion sorry (never heard of that card name)

Yep, Black Illusion. I think it could be a decent alternative to Dark Magic Attack to avoid the backrows while going for Otk; and it's a pretty decent trap to set if you go 1st turn.\nThe other trap i mentioned is Dark Illusion (i wrote it wrong before), it's just a simple rare that doesn't prevent combat damage, not as good as Black Illusion but way cheaper to get.

The problem is that Black Illusion negates your DARK Spellcasters monster effects, so Dark Cavalry wouldn’t get any piercing damage and won’t gain ATK points. Dark Cavalry’s effects are how you deal massive damage and score an OTK. Dark Magic Attack has a lot more benefits that you can get straight away and is also searchable. Dark Illusion being a counter trap and a low rarity card may be good, but it only works against cards that target a DARK monster specifically, plus it’s unsearchable as well. Dark Cavalry can already deal with targeting effects
